About Create Engineering
Over the years Create Engineering has had the pleasure of working on numerous bespoke projects across Scotland, the UK and Ireland.
The team have worked with each other over the years in various practices and have come together in Create Engineering.
About Us
Create Engineering initially started in 2004 when RMJM Directors asked Paul to start up a new Engineering section.
In 2008 we agreed to breakaway from RMJM and set up Create Engineering LLP as an independent company.
Still going strong, our practice is led by our engineering Partners Paul and David, who are both experienced Chartered Engineers that maintain a focused hands-on approach to our design projects.
Our team is a collective of experienced engineers and technicians with a passion for design. We aim to provide a dynamic, responsive service to our clients and collaborators. Our work is across many sectors where we are experienced in delivering designs from small bespoke buildings up to large commercial projects
Whilst based in Edinburgh, our work takes us all across the UK.

David graduated from Edinburgh University in 1997 and became a chartered engineer in 2003. Over the years, he has worked in design consultancies based in Edinburgh, Glasgow and spent three years in Abu Dhabi. He has experience of designing and leading teams on a range of project types from small domestic alterations to multi-storey commercial buildings and infrastructure projects across the UK and UAE. David is driven to deliver structurally efficient designs, following sustainability principles in the process. He values relationship building and believes in the importance of a collaborative approach to design. David joined Create Engineering in 2024, becoming partner in 2025.
Outside of work, he is a keen rugby supporter and athletics fan.
Our Approach
What we have learned over the years is that although there can be similarities, no two projects are entirely the same. As such, we approach each individual project from a fresh perspective. We use our Partner’s experience to consider the potential contributing factors at the outset of the project such as physical site constraints and statutory limitations and share our advice on how best to navigate the route to delivering your project. Maintaining Partner involvement throughout, we take pride in exploring design options collaboratively with other disciplines in order to develop the best holistic solutions for our clients.
